New Passive and High Performance Window Range

Passive and High Performance Window Range

Passive and high performance window

Since 1985, Wexford based Senator Windows has built a considerable reputation as Ireland’s most trusted and innovative manufacturer of windows and doors. That reputation continues to grow, with the launch of a new range of uPVC Passive and High Performance Windows crafted using the EnergyPlus90 window system, one of only a handful of window products able to comply with exacting Passive House standards and certified by Germany’s Passive House Institute as suitable for the Irish climate.

What makes this 90mm system unique is that its 9-chamber profile has been designed to meet the triple challenges of thermal efficiency, noise reduction and security, while still maintaining the attractive appearance of slim sightlines. Independent tests have resulted in EnergyPlus90 being awarded Passive House certification. The system achieves U-values as low as 0.71 W/m²K, for triple glazing and as low as 0.53 W/m²K with quadruple glazed windows. The range of contemporary colours includes cream, several shades of grey, black or any colour from the Senator uPVC range.

Homes designed to the Passive House standard are becoming increasingly popular among homeowners wanting to conserve precious energy resources and optimise comfort. They are constructed using materials with excellent thermal performance, have exceptional airtightness and require very little energy. Whether a new build or a retrofit, homes built to Passive House standards are more energy efficient, have greater levels of comfort in both winter and summer, with better air quality. Also, they are considerably cheaper to heat than conventional dwellings.

Senator’s Managing Director, Owen Power says:

“At Senator we’re very excited about the launch of our new uPVC Passive and High Performance Windows. Windows play a vital role in the new NZEB regulations (Nearly Zero Energy Buildings) and passive house buildings. The new uPVC Passive and High Performance Window Range is a big step forward for energy efficiency, with particular appeal in new build/self builds, passive houses and new housing schemes. We foresee a lot of interest in the home retrofit market, as the Government gears up for large scale home retrofitting under the National Retrofitting Scheme. Senator’s new window range represents a significant investment, demonstrating our commitment to the environment and our faith in the market.”

Senator Windows, a member of the Gowan Group, has recently launched a new website www.senatorwindows.ie and opened a new showroom alongside its state-of the-art manufacturing facility in Wexford’s Seaview Industrial Estate. The Company employs 95 people and supports a dealer network of 120 Senator representatives across the country. Senator Windows is proud to be a trusted national brand, providing energy efficiency, warmth, security and value to customers, in a range of contemporary styles and colours. They are particularly proud of their impressive list of first-to-market innovations, which have earned recognition from prestigious national, EU and global standards bodies along the way.
