Windows play a vital role in NZEB regulations (Nearly Zero Energy Buildings) and Passive House buildings. Homes designed to the Passive House standard are becoming increasingly popular to help conserve precious energy resources and optimise comfort for the homeowner. They are constructed using materials with excellent thermal performance, have exceptional airtightness and require very little energy. New and retrofitted homes built to this standard are more energy efficient, have greater levels of comfort in both winter and summer, with better air quality and are cheaper to heat than conventional dwellings.
uPVC Passive and High Performance Casement Windows from Senator are crafted using the EnergyPlus90 window system. EnergyPlus90 joins an elite band of window systems able to comply with the exacting Passive House standards. Many other systems feature messy and time-consuming foam-filled cavities to meet the requirements. EnergyPlus90 is unique in that its 9-chamber profile has been designed to meet the triple challenges of thermal efficiency, noise reduction and security.

Integrated, Maintenance-Free Blinds
Child-Proof Safety Catch
ScreenLine® Integrated Blinds offer a great many benefits. To begin with, they offer the privacy, shade and protection from sunlight that you expect of a quality blind. The difference is that the blind is sandwiched between two panes of glass, protecting it from dust and weather, making it entirely maintenance-free. Excellent light and solar control characteristics mean you can vary the angle of your blinds as you want.

Senator uPVC Passive and High Performance Windows can be fitted with a safety catch if specified. This safety catch allows you to open the window wide enough for ventilation but not wide enough to compromise security or child safety. In case of emergency, restrictors can be released as a means of escape. And as the restrictor is fitted between the sash and frame, there are no unsightly attachments visible on the main surfaces of the window.

Have questions about our windows? You’re in the right place. Below you’ll find answers to some of the most common queries we get from homeowners—from product options and energy efficiency to installation and guarantees. If you need more help, our team is always happy to assist.
The cost of replacing your windows depends on a few key details—like size, material, style, glazing, and any extras you choose. Since every window is made to measure, just let us know what you have in mind, and we’ll be happy to provide a free, no-obligation quotation tailored to your needs.
While it can be more cost-effective to replace all your windows at once, some homeowners choose to do it in two stages—starting with the front and coming back to complete the rest later. It really comes down to what works best for you, your home, and your budget. We’re here to help you find the right approach.
Both materials are strong, energy efficient, and stylish—but there are a few differences worth considering before you make your final choice. Often, it comes down to personal preference, though in some cases one option may suit your home better than the other. If you’re not sure which is right for you, visit your local Senator showroom where you will see both materials on display and your Senator Dealer will be happy to help you decide.
There are some clear signs it might be time to replace your windows—like draughts, rising heating bills, or visible wear and tear. Upgrading your windows is a smart investment that not only makes your home more comfortable, but can also improve your BER rating and help lower your energy costs in the long run.
How often you’ll need to replace your windows depends on their quality, type, and the conditions they face over time. Most people will only replace their windows once or twice in a lifetime—so it’s worth having trusted experts by your side to help you get it right.
