A Family Affair
Late in March there was a very special gathering at the Senator Windows factory and showroom in Seaview Industrial Estate, Wexford Town. Almost a hundred current staff of the company came together to celebrate Senator Windows’ 40th Anniversary. And, while March 28th 1985 was the actual date the company was founded, members of Senator’s nationwide dealer network pipped that date to the post by starting the celebration the day before at The Senator Dealer Conference.
For a business that has helped to make so many Irish homes cosey, while helping countless families save on their energy consumption, it was fitting that the key theme of both gatherings was family. After all, Senator Windows began with family, the two founders, Noel McSweeney and Des Corrigan, being brothers-in-law. And that was just the start. Over the last forty years brothers, sisters, parents and cousins have found themselves working at Senator’s workshop and showrooms in Wexford Town. In his speech to the staff gathering, Managing Director Owen Power recalled some of the familiar family names and it is estimated that at least twenty Wexford Families have had at least two relatives working with Senator over the years. And, over at the Dealer Conference, the story was much the same, with dealerships passing from one generation to the next.
With all the celebration and the many fond memories, the entire Senator team were very aware that it is the homeowners of Ireland who have been the key to Senator’s success and longevity. Every family that has recognised the benefits and savings offered by Senator products and placed an order with their Senator Dealer, has been key to the company’s success. With each order Senator has created bespoke, individually made doors and windows.
